Physiotherapy Pathways

Maintenance Physiotherapy

Maintenance physiotherapy is designed to keep your horse or dog healthy, mobile, and performing at their best—preventing injuries before they occur. Ideal for working horses, competition animals, agility dogs, and active pets, regular sessions can help maintain peak condition and extend your animal’s active years.

How Maintenance Physiotherapy Can Help:

  • Pain and Stiffness Relief
Relieving aches, pain and stiffness associated with arthritis and the ageing process
  • Improved Mobility and Suppleness
Restoring and maintaining joint range, skeletal suppleness and muscle balance to maximise performance
  • Enhanced Athletic Performance
Improving performance, preventing injury, and enhancing mobility and suppleness
  • Early Detection
Identifying subtle muscle imbalances or gait abnormalities before they develop into serious problems
  • Compensatory Issue Management
Addressing secondary problems that develop when animals favour injured or weak areas
  • Biomechanical Optimisation
Improving movement patterns and muscle coordination for better efficiency and comfort

Important note: Maintenance physiotherapy does not require veterinary referral, though your animal must be registered with a vet. Regular sessions help maintain peak condition and can extend your animal’s active years.

Post-Surgery & Injury Rehabilitation Physiotherapy

Rehabilitation physiotherapy helps horses and dogs recover from injury, surgery, or illness through structured, veterinary-supervised treatment plans. Working alongside your veterinary surgeon and care team, I provide specialised rehabilitation tailored to your animal’s specific condition and recovery goals.

Rehabilitation Services Include:

  • Post-Operative Recovery
Structured recovery following surgery including cruciate ligament repair, fracture repair, spinal surgery, and soft tissue procedures—helping restore function safely and effectively
  • Injury Rehabilitation
Targeted therapy for tendon and ligament injuries, muscle strains, and soft tissue damage—guiding healing and preventing compensatory issues
  • Neurological Recovery
Specialised rehabilitation following nerve damage, spinal issues, or neurological conditions—supporting nerve function and motor recovery
  • Chronic Condition Management
Long-term support for arthritis, hip dysplasia, elbow dysplasia, and degenerative conditions—improving comfort and maintaining mobility
  • Mobility Restoration
Rebuilding strength, flexibility, and confidence after periods of reduced activity, rest, or confinement
  • Return to Activity
Graduated exercise programs designed to safely return your animal to their normal activities—whether that’s work, competition, or everyday play

Important: Each rehabilitation program is customised to your animal’s specific condition and recovery stage. Veterinary referral is required before rehabilitation treatment can begin.
Every animal recovers at their own pace. I work closely with you and your veterinary team to create a progressive treatment plan that safely guides your horse or dog back to full function and comfort.

As the owner of a recently paralysed Doxie following Grade 5 IVDD - Olivia has been instrumental in building up a support and rehab framework for Pip. By coming to our home, Olivia immediately removes all the stress of clinical environments and metal tables. She is knowledgeable, positive, realistic and very in tune with her four legged friends. I would have no hesitation in recommending Olivia to any pet owner - Pip loves her weekly sessions and is already showing significant signs of improvement.

Liv did excellent work on my old miniature chihuahua. I was hesitant at first because she’s really tiny but Liv was so gentle and understanding when Belle wasn’t so sure. Wouldn’t go to anyone else now.

Olivia massaged one of my ponies yesterday and she was very effective and efficient with her work, I was really impressed with the change and seeing how relaxed my pony became, Olivia was also very good at talking me through what she was finding and gave good advice on stretches, would highly recommend to all of my horsey friends!

Olivia was fantastic for my dogs first physio session. Liv performed a thorough initial assessment and identified an issue I wasn’t aware of. I’m so grateful for her care and compassion throughout. My dog can be quite nervous but Liv was super patient and put my dog at ease. This session has really helped my dog feel like her self again post surgery. I will definitely be booking in again 🥰

Booked our first session for Ezio with Olivia. He loved every minute of the attention he received. Olivia gave us plenty of helpful information to advise how to keep on top of our dogs health and body, as he is now getting to his older years.
Wouldn't recommend anyone else in the world 🐶
We look forward to our next session

I am so impressed with the level of care and expertise provided. Olivia took the time to properly assess my horse, listened carefully to my concerns, and explained each part of the treatment in a way that was easy to understand. My mare came out of the session moving more freely, looking comfortable, and clearly feeling happier in herself. The follow-up advice and exercises were also incredibly helpful. Exceptional service, truly dedicated and knowledgeable!
