Physiotherapy for Every Stage of Your Horse's Life

Horses ask a great deal of their bodies, whether competing, pleasure riding or simply enjoying time in the field. Physiotherapy can support comfort and movement, with care adapted to your horse’s activities and needs.

I provide a calm, hands-on and evidence-based approach tailored to your horse’s individual needs. By working closely with you and your veterinary team, and considering your horse’s lifestyle and goals, I aim to provide practical support for your horse’s movement and wellbeing as their needs change.

How Can Equine Physiotherapy Help?

  • Pain Management

Treatment selected to help manage discomfort and support comfortable movement.

  • Mobility & Flexibility

Supporting joint movement, suppleness and muscle function.

  • Post-Surgical Rehabilitation

Supporting a safe, structured and progressive recovery following surgery.

  • Comfort & Ongoing Care

Helping to maintain musculoskeletal health, comfort and mobility for the future.

  • Rehabilitation & Recovery

Additional Treatment Options

Alongside hands-on physiotherapy and prescribed exercise, OP Vet Physio offers additional treatments to support your animal’s comfort, mobility and rehabilitation. Treatment options are selected following assessment and tailored to your animal’s individual needs.

K-Laser Therapy

Using the portable K-Laser Giro Core, laser therapy may help manage pain and inflammation and support tissue repair within your horse’s musculoskeletal rehabilitation plan. Treatment can be provided during suitable yard appointments.

Electrotherapy

Targeted electrical stimulation may be included within a wider physiotherapy plan to support pain management or muscle activation when assessment shows it is appropriate for your animal.

Explore Electrotherapy

I will discuss with you which treatment options are suitable for your horse and review their response throughout rehabilitation.

Maintenance & Performance

For horses who would benefit from regular physiotherapy to maintain mobility, comfort, physical condition and performance. Maintenance physiotherapy offers an opportunity to review your horse’s movement and muscle condition, and adapt their care as their needs change.

Rehabilitation & Recovery

For horses recovering from injury, surgery or illness, or those managing an ongoing condition. A structured and progressive physiotherapy programme can help guide a gradual return to movement and activity, with exercises tailored to your horse’s stage of recovery.

Veterinary referrals: Maintenance physiotherapy does not require referral, although your animal must be registered with a veterinary practice. Veterinary referral is required before rehabilitation treatment can begin.

Olivia massaged one of my ponies yesterday and she was very effective and efficient with her work, I was really impressed with the change and seeing how relaxed my pony became, Olivia was also very good at talking me through what she was finding and gave good advice on stretches, would highly recommend to all of my horsey friends!
